With autumn fast approaching and summer coming to an end, it’s time to prepare for the changes ahead. This week we’re featuring the autumn trends that will carry you into the colder months and impress casting agents to get you that dream opportunity, like Benjamin, our featured success story.
Fall fashion trends for the perfect audition look:
Many of the items that have worked for so long are back in style this season. There are three major trends to look for, all of which can be incorporated for the right audition look. Keep in mind, your look should be professional so stay away from the more extreme versions of these trends.
Black: Colors are no longer the new black, black is back, but its not the bland sweaters and t-shirts of the past, now black is embellished, accessorized and detailed.
Romance: Blouses in delicate fabrics and basic colors are the must-have item of the season. With lace, velvet and ribbon trims or even puffy sleeves, these romantic tops are the perfect layer under fitted velvet jackets. Even for men this trend has had an impact with more detailing and the use of velvet fabrics.
Volume: The trend in loose tops and full skirts continues into the fall and winter, but remember to pair them with slim counterparts because loose items should never be paired together. Pair full items with a belted slim jacket or cigarette pants, for a pulled together, professional look.
Accessories that make the difference:
With more basic colors returning this season, the key to getting a stand-out look is through accessories. Take a look at this season's must have items:
Ethnic jewelry: This trend started in the spring and is here to stay with big bold bracelets, in raw materials like wood, and in basic earth colors like teal and brown.
Metallic: Details on bags and shoes, this trend will liven up any outfit.
Victorian: Think your grandmother's accessories, but with a twist, such as broaches in coral colors.
Fur trim: Whether you opt for faux or the real thing, fur is in. With fur trimmed bags, jackets and clothing, you can get some added warmth and style.
