The Latest Agency News:
The well-known promotions agency, Honig Company Inc. (which represents Coca-Cola, Hewlett-Packard and Universal Pictures) has recently launched a talent division to represent actors and performers.
The company will bring the efforts of agents, managers and talent together, focusing on the business side of the industry. Represented talent will be in good hands, as the senior counsel once promoted Bill Cosby, Neil Diamond, Drew Barrymore, and Burt Reynolds to name a few.
The New York agency scene is a fluid one, with new agencies coming in and old ones dwindling in a New York minute. Mc2 Model Management is a reinvention of the established Karin NY agency. As president, Jeff Fuller has said that the new agency will focus on giving their models the most longevity in the industry. Mc2 is dedicated to finding new young models with diverse backgrounds and unique features.
Currently the agency is promoting their New Generation contest where models from all around will be selected to compete in an internationally televised competition in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Kate Moss is back as one of the industry’s top models. Last month a photo revealed her in a compromising drug moment and many of her big contracts fell through (H&M, Chanel, and Burberry) but recently she was signed as the spokes model for the French luxury accessories label Longchamp.
Kate is also featured in the latest Pirelli calendar, unveiled in Paris last week. She caused a great deal of buzz when she was featured in a series of Roberto Cavalli ads for Vogue, which was her first job after returning from rehab. If that weren’t enough to re-build Kate’s career, she is currently in negotiations to become the new face of Virgin mobile.
The queen of mini-skirts and public meltdowns followed by a rebound, Mariah Carey will be featured in a series of editorials for Versace. Mariah is just one of several celebs to be featured in high-end fashion, like Angelina Jolie for St John’s, Uma Thurman for Vuitton and Nicole Kidman for Chanel. Look for Mariah in the Spring/Summer 2006 season.
New Faces Recent Successes: Stephen
"I tried several other sites and gotten no jobs. Then I signed up to your site, NewFaces.com in two categories: models and actors. Having a portfolio on your site was the best decision I ever made! Your site has gotten me more acting jobs in feature films and commercials than I ever imagined! I also booked -- in the first month, no less!-- several very high-profile modeling jobs for magazine ads and billboards. I recommend New Faces to all my actor and model friends. Thank you New Faces!!"
