David Beckham makes history!

Elle Magazine has made him the cover of their July issue. His appearance on the cover  is different from all the other men who appeared on the magazine’s cover. In the past,  the men who were seen on the cover posed with women. The case is very different for the football star as he appears solo on Elle’s cover.

UK Editor said that the purpose of this project is to bridge the gap between British sports and British fashion. David Beckham is undoubtedly capable of doing just that knowing how he is an icon for sports and for fashion. Elle is also dedicating this issue for the Olympic Games which will take place in London this summer. That said, David Beckham is indeed the man for the job!

Dolce and Gabbana is set to launch a new addition to their collection this July. They are scheduled to debut their Children’s Wear next month.

This is a new challenge for the creative duo as they admit they’ve never designed clothes for children before. But they are confident that their pieces will be very popular, given the hard work they did prior to making their designs.

D&G will be following the trend that has been set by other Italian lines. Luxury labels like Gucci, Lanvin and Diane von Furstenberg have also expanded their collection by starting their own Children’s Wear.

For Stefano Gabbana, he says that this is like paying homage to Italy and to their tradition. It is part of their culture and it marks as one of the most important moments in their lives.

Footwear this season are leaning towards wedges over stilletos. Brands likes Mulberry, Burberry Prorsum, Ralph Lauren, Derek Lam, D&G, Moschino have showcased and made it a big part of their collection this summer.

Well, why not?

Women love heels because it gives them an elongated look and appear more sexy. But they’re difficult to wear and can be very harmful for the feet. Wedges become a good alternative to wear as they give the same effect on the looks we want to have. They’re stylish, and definitely more comfortable to wear over stilletos.

Wedges are perfect for daily wear. But if you can find the right designs and colors, you can wear them on a date, on girls’ night out, or when you’re out to watch a game like Vanessa Hudgens in the picture below.

Having her on board with Gisele Bundchen, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Ashton Kutcher only shows that the fashion company’s marketing team knows what they’re doing!

For Colcci’s Summer Collection, Candice poses for the camera, topless with gold and glitter for her background. The collection of jeans is evidently stylish with perfect fits in various washes. Candice did such a great job during the shoot, making it difficult not to grab a pair this season!

Wedge Sneakers have made a come back!

Only now, they are more refined and subtle. Its a weird combination, really but the item does not show any contrasting feature. It would definitely look good on you when you choose to wear it.

The shoes are a good complement to your chosen outfit. Whether you’re trying to pull of a sporty casual outfit or a trendy casual that needs some heels, wedge sneakers can go well with it.

The wedge sneakers have caused our troubles of matching sneakers with our daily outfits. Now, we can look sporty and at the same time, be seen in heels.

Gossip Girl’s Dark Knight a.k.a. Chuck Bass, a.k.a Ed Westwick makes his runway debut. He was casted as the face of Pilipp Pleain’s Men’s Wear Spring Collection. He also fronted the campaign with photos taken by Terry Richardson.

The fashion show was done in Milan and the actor was seen wearing two outfits. The casual outfit that was put together for him consisted of a pair of white pants, low cut printed top, a brown leather jacket, belt, and shoes.

His formal wear made him look absolutely stunning. It was made up of suit pants, a shirt which was perfectly matched by a light blue jacket, and a pair of lacquered shoes.

Pilipp Pleain’s Spring collection was positively received by the crowd and the critics.  Additional applause was given more to the collection as Lindsay Lohan was also casted to be the face of its Women’s Wear.

Tyra Banks uses her name and charisma to build a place where she can develop the self esteem of young girls. She plans to revive the TZONE Concept which started in 1999. The TZONE concept is centered to empower women and to support them with their respective careers through summer camps. With Tyra’s background in executive-education from Harvard University, this project will definitely make a mark in the industry and in the lives of the women who will become a part of it.

The building which will house the Lower Eastside Girls Club is located on Avenue D and is set to open next year. Tyra will be maintaining an office here as well. She aims to produce an environment where the women she works with are numb to her as the place is not the red carpet. She emphasizes on the fact that she plans to do normal work there and she gives more stress on being a businesswoman who goes to work every single day.

Many individuals salute Tyra for this big move and dream to help more women become successful with what they choose to do. Soon enough, young women from all over the globe will be practicing more of the smize move to showcase their confidence as something they learned from Tyra.

Victoria’s Secret lost a model. Kylie Bisutti decided to quit modeling lingerie because it clashes with her religious beliefs.  According to an interview, she said that she has found herself committed to the Lord. She knows she has a  beautiful body and would be perfect for the job but with her devotion to the Lord, she now believes that it goes against it. She would rather reserve her body for her husband and become an excellent role model for women. With this, she decided to clip her coveted angel wings and pass up the times to walk the runway with Adriana Lima and Miranda Kerr.

Kylie only decided to quit modeling lingerie. She says that she still plans to grow in the modeling industry. But another reason she decided to leave the lingerie company is what her 8 year old cousin told her. She was putting some make up on her face and her cousin explicitly expressed her interest in becoming and looking like her by not eating. This broke her heart. With this, Kylie tells her fans and the media that beauty isn’t an outer issue but a heart issue. Also, she’ll be choosing more wholesome modeling projects to honor the Lord.

A beautiful young woman like Kylie Bisutti is definitely someone women from all over the world should look up to. She stands up for her beliefs and wishes to influence others in the most positive light. The industry expects more from  her and her fans definitely expect more outstanding projects from this gorgeous young woman.

When photos are the only things you can hand in to represent you, needless to say that it is important for you to hand in a picture that shows you are at your best. For models, this shouldn’t come as a shocker anymore but for those who are just starting out, here are a few simple things that may help you out.

When preparing for a big shoot, do not overlook the small details. These details may be small but it makes big differences in your photos.

1.  Outfit- Come up with a well put together attire for the shoot that you’re preparing for. Make sure that it’s appropriate for the event or for the theme that was provided.

2.  Drink Water- Drink water to keep your skin glowing and hydrated. Do not take this for granted.

3. Experiment your poses- Don’t be afraid to experiment. Go for what you think is right at the moment. At the end of the shoot, you’ll have more options to pick from. You can hand in the best picture while the other photos can be displayed in your room posted on facebook just to showcase your wackiness.

4. Express Yourself- Some shoots provide difficult themes to transition into. But to transition into it is a must. When you get to the other side, don’t forget to express yourself. Your body says a lot about what you’re thinking and feeling; your poses will give you away. So if you want to send a message, show them through a gorgeous pose and through expressive eyes.

Taking a photo comes natural to some individuals while others stumble across a few things. Best to know some simple things or be reminded by what you already know to secure photos that are not just presentable but also cover worthy.

Barbie designs for celebrities. Yes, that is correct. Barbie has pursued another career and this is her first for 2012; designing for celebrities. Barbie hosted a Fashion Party and her showcase of vintage outfits just blew our minds!

As you can see in the picture above, there are many Barbie personalities and all look adorable. These coupled with the girliest music you’ll ever hear in a life size Barbie house, we definitely transitioned from our own worlds to Barbie’s!

The different Barbies wore different items from Moschino, Burberry, Chloe, Mark Jacobs, and Oscar de la Renta. While their accessories were provided by other big names in the fashion industry like Alexis Bittar, Kate Spade,  and Janis Savitt.

Barbie’s Senior Vice President of worldwide marketing talked about the brand’s detractors and said that to deal with that challenge is to remember everyday that Barbie represents fashion, and aspiration, and opportunity. By doing so, we try to look through that little-girl lens. It’s definitely an amazing responsibility. It is an amazing responsibility and the brand has been delivering what is expected of it time and time again.
