Tyson Beckford Says Modeling Is Harder Than Lidsay Lohan Thinks

So this will make an update. Few days ago, we give you Tyson Beckford’s “breakout,” when he said that celebrities are not pretty enough to model. Two days after, we learned about Lindsay Lohan’s “yearning” to become a model. Well today, Tyson Beckford says modeling is harder than it looks especially for someone like Lindsay Lohan.

Tyson Beckford commented on Lindsay Lohan’s statement about how she would like to sign with IMG Models and do photo shoots as a model. The male supermodel believes that the modeling business is tougher than Lilo actually thinks.

“She (Lindsay) has the partying part down right. But I don’t think she’s got the focus. I mean, it requires a lot of focus and a lot of people think they can do it, but they really find that it’s a lot harder. Ask anyone - it’s a lot harder than it looks. I guess that’s why they call us supermodels - we make it look easy. But it’s not as easy as it looks, so I wish her all the best,” says the model and host of Bravo’s Make Me A Supermodel.

True. Tyson Beckford is speaking from his modeling experience when he shares that modeling is harder than it seems. But for Lindsay Lohan who needs to have some cash and cigarette breaks here and there, photo shoots may not be as harder as doing movies. For now, probably a modeling advice from Kate Moss is Lilo’s essential.

“Celebrities Are Not Pretty Enough To Model”

Remember how Tyra Banks reacted to the trend of fashion models losing out to Hollywood celebrities in terms of product endorsements? Well, she has just found a new supporter in the person of fellow black fashion model Tyson Beckford who now cries “Celebs aren’t pretty enough to model!”

The top male model finally let go of his sweet talks to express his sentiment over the use of celebrities in high fashion campaigns instead of models. Tyson Beckford can’t hold his dismay any longer over the fact that the media has been favoring celebrities when it comes to modeling gigs. He claims that actors are not beautiful enough to naturally look good in glossy print.

In the middle of his antagonism, he declares “You have to do a lot of tweaking and airbrushing to get the same from a celebrity that you would get from a model. A lot of celebrities - I’m gonna tell you right now - they’re not 5′11″; they’re not a size two to fit into these designer dresses, but the designers want exposure so they’re willing to make the specific dress for that actor or actress to get them to look good on the cover.”

Tyson Beckford has all the right in the world to say such things, despite being subjective. He’s a fashion model (a top one at that) and perhaps he has also been affected by the trend. Nevertheless, the 38-year old hunk believes that it will not take long for the fashion industry to realize that it’s sickening to use less-than-perfect stars.

“It’ll all come back around. One day some designer will wake up and say, ‘You know what? I don’t want to use Gwyneth Paltrow. I want to use Adriana Lima, I want to use Gisele Bundchen, I want to go back to the high fashion.’ I think slowly but surely you’ll see that start happening,” he predicts.

Tyson Beckford is the current host of Bravo’s “Make Me A Supermodel” reality TV show. He is also one of the highest paid and richest male supermodels in the world. He is known for his muscular physique but with his latest “breakout” over how celebrities are not pretty enough to model, he might soon become a damsel in distress.

Supermodels Cradle Babies In Maternity Ward

Modeling is not just about strutting on the runway or posing on glamorous magazine covers with your drop-dead gorgeous body. Though fashion models are always known for sophistication, the fame that comes with the title can get them closer to the public, far more than just the “catwalk queen, international-party-chic” image.

And this time around, supermodels Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford are on a humanitarian campaign as they cradle babies in maternity ward.

Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford recently visited Nigeria to attend the This Day Africa Rising concert. While visiting on the country, the supermodels dropped by the maternity ward of a clinic in Lagos. The fiery supermodel Naomi Campbell particularly showed off her domestic side as she lifted some of the babies with an expert touch.

Aside from the supermodels cradling babies in the maternity ward, Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford also helped distribute sack loads of gifts to expectant and new mothers in the small clinic. The models were obviously extending great publicity and support not only to the This Day Africa Rising concert but to the general aim of showing the continent in a positive light.
