The Gay Marriage Stance That Cost Miss California The Crown

This is the stance that cost Miss California Carrie Prejean the Miss USA crown during the competition last Sunday in Las Vegas:


"Well, I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. No offence to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you very much."

Well, it did offend the gay judge Perez Hilton, who might have chosen Miss California as a bet for the crown when he asked her the seemingly leading question: "Vermont recently became the 4th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?"

Victim of political incorrectness or not - Miss California also received a brutally "honest" opinion from the celebrity blogger who called her a "dumb bitch" on his attack video. Later, Perez Hilton says he takes back his apology for calling Carrie Prejean a dumb bitch but laughs and says that while he called her that epithet he was really thinking of the “c-word.”
