Conservative Islamic Fashion On the Catwalk
Add creativity to conservatism and you get the Islamic Fashion Festival – a fashion show highlighting conservative Islamic fashion on the catwalk with models appearing as modern Muslim women dressed in clothes which reflect both sartorial trends and spiritual dictates.Hosted by the Islamic countries of Malaysia, Indonesia, and United Arab Emirates, the 6th Islamic Fashion Festival was held last Thursday in Kuala Lumpur hotel and was opened to an audience of Malaysian Royal princesses and corporate women, dying to have a piece of the modern Islamic apparel.
According to fashion gurus, “Islamic apparel is a fast-growing segment of their worldwide industry, fueled by growing numbers of affluent, liberal Muslims who want to balance propriety with style and globally renowned designers... whose creations can fulfill religious rules.”
So while there are more and more women who are interested in Islamic fashion, more models will also be doing conservative Islamic fashion on the catwalk in the days to come.
