Lindsay Lohan Opens Up On Drug & Alcohol Addiction

"Partying so hard simply isn't worth it. Life is worth living and there is so much to do and experience, it's wonderful." - Lindsay Lohan

Dubbed as "Hollywood's Wild Child" Lindsay Lohan is no doubt one of the most controversial actress of her generation. Barely 23 years old, her life has already been well-documented through the eyes of the scrutinizing media which particularly follows her family troubles, drug and alcohol addiction, wild partying, and bisexual love affair with Samantha Ronson.

The world sighed at the fate of this once adorable child star who grow up to become one of the most beautiful actress in Hollywood. If not for her drug and alcohol addiction, career might have become brighter for her.

Lindsay Lohan recently did an interview with The Sun. If this wild child is indeed telling the truth, redemption has finally come for her. Who knows if she will rise up to become one of Hollywood's greatest actress in say, 10 years? After all, she's barely 23...

"When my father was going public, that's when I hit rock bottom. I abused substances too much and it wasn't the answer to my problems. People need to know that. I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine and mind-altering substances. Now I'm in a place where I don't need to use anything and I can feel emotions because I choose to. I learnt from my mistakes and I'm now healthy and happier. I never want to be close to losing everything I worked for and aspired to have my whole life. Mind-altering substances are so dangerous. If I can teach others, especially teens, by sharing my experiences, then that's what I will continue to do. I've made some dreadful mistakes but learned from them - that has probably saved my life."

"I went to rehab three times. The first time I checked myself in because I had taken Ambien. It's a sleeping aid but it makes you hallucinate. I'd run a bath and fallen asleep on the floor and the bath had overflowed. When I woke up I was so scared, I called my therapist and said, 'Can I just go somewhere for a month? I'm around bad people and I need to take care of myself'. I was terrified, so I put myself in. There was a point when I didn't know how to say 'No' and I was trying to please everyone. I was doing pop and making films. I was young and thought I could go out, have fun, then go on set and record. I ran myself down and I lost track of who I was."

Lindsay Lohan has pleaded guilty to cocaine use and driving under the influence in 2007. She has been jailed for a day and has been ordered to complete an alcohol education program.

Now, Lindsay Lohan still booze but she says it's not for masking troubles anymore but for "social obligations." She has recently hosted a Haiti fundraiser event in London.

"I'm allowed to drink now but I know my limits. There are certain situations where I have obligations. There's no reason to (drink) because I don't want to feel like s*it in the morning. The thing is, at the times I was going out a lot and being seen everywhere, I would have been in college. My brother, who is 18, and his friends go out to bars and stuff till whatever time. That's what you do in college. Mine was all in the public eye so it was magnified that much more.

"I've now learned my boundaries and I've been very good with cleaning house with people who I know didn't have my best intentions at heart. A lot of people in LA are very self destructive.

"Partying so hard simply isn't worth it. Life is worth living and there is so much to do and experience, it's wonderful."

Comedian Tina Fey Models For Vogue

"I don't look at models who are crazy skinny and think I want to look like that, because a lot of them are gigantic, with giant hands and feet."

Tina Fey's impersonation of former presidential candidate Sarah Palin seems an easier work than doing photo shoot for Vogue. Still, her awesomeness is impossible to impinge on.

The star of 30 Rock lands the magazine gig with clear intention — talking about her fashion style evolution and not on being a "cow."

So what is fashion for Tina Fey?

"People will say, 'Oh, fashion magazines are so bad, they're giving girls a negative message' but we're also the fattest country in the world, so it's not like we're all looking at fashion magazines and not eating. Maybe it just starts a shame cycle: I'm never going to look like that model, so… Chicken McNuggets it is!

"And conversely, I don't look at models who are crazy skinny and think I want to look like that, because a lot of them are gigantic, with giant hands and feet. Also, my dad is an artist
a painter by hobby and I constantly would see realistic nudes. Because we were raised around art and went to museums and the women I grew up around were curvy... There wasn't this value on skinny, skinny, skinny. Curvy was clearly meant to be the winner. I go up and down a few pounds with a relative amount of kindness to myself. And I have a daughter, and I don't want her to waste her time on all of that."

Indeed, Tina Fey is not a fashion model but a comedic actor. And so she succumbs to the awkwardness of photo shoots.

"At one point I was posing for (Mario Testino), and he was talking from behind the camera and he was like, 'You have to fliiiirt, darleeeng. You have to bee-leeve you are wuuuurthy to be on the cover.' And then at one point he said very quietly, 'Lift your chin, darling. You are not eighteen.' I was like, 'You probably say that to all the 23-year-olds.'"

Not everyone is happy with her Vogue cover though. Some hate the idea of the seemingly contented and relieved-in-her-average-look Tina Fey submitting herself to the power of Anna Wintour.

"These women are hilarious, smart, talented AND feminists need I remind them... Why do they feel they have to cave in to the pressures of the beauty industry despite their massive talent and star capital that got them where they are today?" says one critic who, upon seeing Tina Fey on the glossy magazine cover, declares the international sad day for women.

Anne Hathaway: Beauty Is About Finding Balance

Gorgeous and radiant, all that doe-eyed Anne Hathaway sees of herself are weird features. She thinks she's not very pretty but it's not as important as authenticity.

Blooming like a spring flower in the March cover of InStyle magazine (to hit stands this Friday), Anne Hathaway shares:

"I think I've got really weird features. I have very large features on a very small head. But, you know, I'm not going to beat myself up. It's my face. I'm not very pretty. But that's OK because I do know that I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important."

Beauty for this 27-year-old actress is striving for equilibrium. She maintains her figure by working out to balance her curves with tone. For her personal style, she embraces the tomboy-by-day, glamazon-by-night approach.

"If I don't work out at all, I have too much curve and no tone — which is not OK. It's about finding balance.

"In the evening it would never occur to me to go out in motorcycle boots like this (referring to the black Burberry pair she wears during the interview). I love going out in high heels and dressing up and glamming it up, and having there be a distinction between what happened throughout the day and the evening."

Anne Hathaway also finds style inspiration in the Hollywood icons who she believes to demonstrate "innovation and originality" and this includes Marc Jacobs (her all-time favorite designer), Tilda Swinton, Selma Blair, Natalie Portman, Gwen Stefani, and Lady Gaga.

"I like people who are true to themselves," she says.

Mandela Film Casts Jennifer Hudson, South African Actors Object!

Looks like Jennifer Hudson's Oscar award could not convinced South Africans for her big role in upcoming Nelson Mandela film.

The 28 year-old singer-actress is casted to play ex-wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in a movie about the South African's first Black president. But South African actors object!

The Creative Workers Union of South Africa has expressed disagreement for the casting of the American actress because they believed that using foreign actors to tell the country's stories is undermining efforts to develop the national film industry.

In The Citizen newspaper, union's president Mabutho Sithole has said, "It can't happen that we want to develop our own Hollywood and yet bring in imports."

Union secretary general Oupa Lebogo has voiced out the same concern in The Times, saying "This decision must be reversed, it must be stopped now. If the matter doesn't come up for discussion, we will push for a moratorium to be placed on the film."

Jennifer Hudson, who has won the Oscar's best supporting actress in 2007 for her role in "Dreamgirls," is casted for the role of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela just last month. As the ex-wife of Nelson Mandela, she has tirelessly called for his husband's release during his 27-year imprisonment but her image would later be tarnished from involvement in a series of scandals leading to her separation from him.

The objection to the casting choice comes just days before the opening of the film, "Invictus," which focuses on Nelson Mandela and the South Africa's 1995 rugby World Cup victory that united the nation. The film is directed by Clint Eastwood with South African film-maker Darrell J. Roodt. Morgan Freeman plays the role of Nelson Mandela while Matt Damon plays the rugby team captain.

Demi Moore's Head, Anja Rubik's Body?

It is not an unusual occurrence. Famous Hollywood celebrities often lend their heads to be put on top of models' bodies for advertisements. How? Photoshop!

And now both "Conspiracy Theorists" and Photoshop fanatics are suggesting that the December cover of W magazine has Photoshopped the photo of 46 year-old Demi Moore by putting her head onto the gorgeous body of 26 year-old model Anja Rubik from a runway shot in the spring 2010 Balmain show in Paris.

Apparently, the forensic analysis of Demi Moore's photo on the magazine cover has devolved. Earlier, it was her hip that has been the subject of crucial scrutiny. Forget that the actress appears undeniably thin, there is also a supposed "chunk" missing from her left hip. Both Demi Moore and W magazine have denied the allegation.

In fairness to Demi Moore, she has really posed for W. There is a gallery of photos from the same magazine pictorial and it is proving the actress' slim and toned body. On the other hand, what has really taken place during the final retouching remains a mystery.

Miley Cyrus Vs Taylor Lautner: Double Standard For Teen Stars?

Does Hollywood have a double standard for its shirtless teenage stars?

When Miley Cyrus posed in Vanity Fair last year, wearing but a wrap of sheet and exposing her right shoulder and the top of her back, the negative reaction was overwhelming. Critics said the 15 year-old actress and her nude-implied photo is "sexualization of a child to sell magazines."

The call to reprimand the teen star was intense enough for her to eventually make a public apology statement saying, "I never intended for any of this to happen, and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone." This was despite how she expressed earlier liking to the photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz.

Now, with the New Moon movie coming to theatres in a month, there's the 17 year-old Taylor Lautner and his shirtless body blanketing the magazines, websites, and TV for the promotion of the Twilight sequel. Just like Miley Cyrus, Taylor Hautner is also a minor - a child. Unlike his fellow teen star, however, images of his shirtless body not only appeared on one magazine but on countless mass media. And unlike Miley Cyrus, no one called the shirtless photos of this teen male star scandalous.

And so Lindsay Robertson asks on Yahoo Movie Talk colum, "Does Hollywood have a double standard for shirtless teenage stars?"

Taylor Lautner trained for months to get the fit and toned body that New Moon has been showing off. But for all the shirtless images of him in circulation, there's only one major voice to raise questions about his photos. His New Moon co-star Kristin Davis says, "I feel protective, like what is he doing without his shirt on? And then I hear he's dating people, and I'm like, 'Ahh!'"

Good or bad for the young Taylor Hautner, no one is seeing his shirtless images as sexualization of a child to sell a movie. And while there's no big critic to his provocative photos, he could only hope that he never has to take his shirt off in a movie again:

"It's so uncomfortable knowing that so many people are seeing pictures of me shirtless... It's weird. It's kind of embarrassing."

Hollywood's Most Overpaid Actors

How to identify Hollywood's most overpaid actors? Simple – if they receive large amount of money for their acting project, but the project did not gain much earnings in return. The ranking is compiled by looking at a star's past three movies and dividing their total earnings by the films' gross income to get the actor's payback figure.

And guess who tops the list of the most overpaid actors in Hollywood these days? The towering Australian actress Nicole Kidman.

According to U.S. Magazine Forbes, Nicole Kidman is this year's most overpaid celebrity in Hollywood in its second annual list of least bankable stars.

Nicole Kidman's films were estimated to only earn $1 for every dollar that she was paid compared with $8 a year ago. For her film “The Invasion,” the Oscar-winning actress was paid $17 million but the film reportedly lost $2.68 for every dollar earned by the actress.

Other Hollywood actors on the list of most overpaid celebrities include Jennifer Garner who came in second and Nicole Kidman's former husband Tom Cruise whose on the third spot.

Jennifer Garner's recent movies “The Kingdom” and “Catch and Release” underperformed at the box office with a calculated earning of only $3.60 for every $1 paid to the actress. Tom Cruise's performance, on the other hand, was affected by the failure of his last year's film “Lions for Lambs” which had only returned $1.88 for every dollar paid to the veteran actor.

Completing the top ten of Hollywood's most overpaid actors were Cameron Diaz, Nicolas Cage, Drew Barrymore, Will Ferrell, and Cate Blanchett.
