Halle Berry – Sexiest Career At 40s
Halle Berry recently debunked Hollywood's conventional wisdom – that is, celebrities have reached their expiration date by the age 40. It even turned out that the lovely African-American model and actress just had her sexiest career at 40s. The 42-year old Halle Berry, who just gave birth to her first child few months ago, was hailed as the "Sexiest Woman Alive" in the November issue of Esquire magazine, beating the likes of young, sexy actresses today like Scarlet Johansson and Megan Fox.
Halle Berry aka Bond-girl aka Catwoman made reflections on what's sexy as she shared, “I've been in the business for more than 20 years, and you decide now, at this particular time, that I'm the sexiest woman alive? Come on. I mean, you couldn't go with the Bond-girl year?"
However, she continued, "I know damned well I'm sexier now than I used to be. Let me make an argument here -- not so much for me, or even for my age being sexy but for what I've learned. I've picked up a little over the years. Sexy is not about wearing sexy clothes or shaking your booty until you damn near get hip dysplasia; it's about knowing that sexiness is a state of mind -- a comfortable state of being."
Very true indeed. There have been a lot of mature celebrities, big names in the 80s and 90s, who returned to the spotlight today in their profound, deeper understanding of sexiness.
Aside from Halle Berry, there is the ageless performer Madonna in her worldwide tour; the supermodels Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington and Claudia Schiffer who came back to bedazzle the covers of glossy magazines; and the 40+ actresses Nicole Kidman, Brooke Shields, Mary-Louise Parker and Debra Messing who remain sought-after charms in major film projects and big advertising campaigns.
Recognizing the sexiness of stars in their 40s like Halle Berry, a senior editor at US Weekly magazine believed:
"Women in their 40s are here and they're not going anywhere. In politics, media and fashion, everyone is finally waking up to this sleeping giant demographic. These are the women at the hub of our culture."
