The Winning Emmy Awards 2009
The ceremony is well-praised for its clever and breezy presentation, thanks to the wit of charming host Neil Patrick Harris. The organizers also induce fun and creativity into the usually boring program by announced personalities talking about their hobbies and trivial facts when called to the stage. Presenters, on the other hand, are introduced through the obscure roles they played on TV before they became famous.
Aside from the outstanding presentation, highlights of the show include Sarah Mclachlan singing "I Will Remember You" during the tribute memorial and the winners of reality dance competitions Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, and America's Best Dance Crew dancing together on stage.
Although this year's Emmy awards have breathed new life of creativity and fun, there are some things that have not changed — the outstanding actors and television programs that remain expected winners. If there is any "spoiler" to the exciting Emmy 2009 awards, some say it's the "unexciting" winners: Mad Men is also last year's outstanding drama while 30 Rock is still the outstanding comedy; Alec Baldwin, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Probst, and Glenn Close remain Emmy winners just like before; and the Amazing Race gets the most outstanding reality competition awards seven times while The Daily Show also receives the seventh time award for the outstanding variety, music, or comedy series. Well, for this "unexciting" and "snoozing" part, blame it on the talent and ingenuity of the award-winning actors and programs.
All in all, the Emmy Awards 2009 is still the big winner of the night, something that the next Emmy awards will live up to.
