Katherine Heigl's High Salary Demand

Whew! A high salary demand can cost you a career of a lifetime. Well, there's some exaggeration here - but if Katherine Heigl goes on with this demanding attitude, she might soon pack out of Hollywood and bid her acting career goodbye.

Katherine Heigl (of Grey's Anatomy and 27 Dresses) had been reportedly slated to star in the upcoming romantic comedy "Valentine's Day" to be released in 2011. But the producers chose to drop her because of her high salary demand - an eye-popping $3 million for a 3-14 day shoot!

“Producers at New Line originally had Katherine on their casting list. They wanted her for the project, but during the talks, she came back demanding $3 million for the role,” says a source. Her demand was deemed "ridiculous," considering that the movie has “an ensemble cast where there is really no one lead role. Actors are only filming between three and 14 days, and no other actors asked for nearly that amount.”

What's more ridiculous is that there's a lot of bigger stars for the movie but none of them ask for as much as Katherine Heigl's rate. You ask for the rest of the cast? The movie line-up includes Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Shirley MacLaine and Bradley Cooper - actors who have been in the film industry pretty longer and have had reputations for good acting and box-office hits.

Sad to say, haters of the 30-year old American actress says she's not worth $3 million... Does Katherine Heigl (and her high salary demand) ever realize how many good actors are looking for any paying work these days?

Emma Watson For Karl Lagerfeld: A Dream Come True

First, she joined school plays. Then at the age of 9, she was casted as the adorable Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, playing alongside Danielle Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. Now at 19, Emma Watson is also recognized as one of the most beautiful faces in the fashion industry, posing for famous people like Karl Lagerfeld.

Emma Watson has undoubtedly enjoyed her success in the showbiz and fashion industry at a young age. Her work in Harry Potter has earned her more than £10 million. She is also one of the most sough-after teen star of her generation (Forbes ranked her as the 6th Most Valuable Young Star in March 2009). But what's most remarkable about this British young star is that, she chose not to leave school to become a full-time actress saying, "People can’t understand why I don’t want to... but school life keeps me in touch with my friends. It keeps me in touch with reality."

True enough, Emma Watson remains a zealous art student at the moment. Considering her classic beauty and her eye for fashion which she sees as an extension of her interest in art, it has become an easy work for this lovely teenager to crossed-over from acting to modeling.

In her latest photoshoot for Chanel as pictured above, Emma Watson posed as a "ghostly-looking nun with a veil, white eyebrows and an other-wordly expression on her face." Her nun-inspired looked was described as "ethereal." Her photo (and another one which shows her wearing an Alexander McQueen bodice-style top and a revealing Vivienne Westwood shirt) was taken by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld for the French fashion magazine Crash.

Posing for Karl Lagerfeld, Emma Watson shares "This was a dream come true. We spent the whole day together and he can talk about anything - literature, art, science, modern culture. I was totally seduced."

Sophie Dahl's Cookbook, Released

And the "First-Supermodel-To-Release-A-Cookbook Award" goes to (drums beating)... Sophie Dahl!

Sorry Kate Moss, you may have garnered much publicity about releasing a cookbook but this fellow British supermodel was just quick enough to "cook" her own publication in less time.

Sophie Dahl's cookcook, "Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights" included breakfast burrito and blueberry and strawberry smoothies. The book was published by Harper Collins in May 2009 and has already been sold on Amazon. Some people who have bought the cookbook were even pleased to comment that the recipes were unfussy and the ingredients can be easily bought from the market.

Asked if Kate Moss' recipes are also included on her voluptuous recipes, Sophie Dahl says, "I don't know her soufflé recipe. She might have a jolly good one up her sleeve, you never know. I just know mine. But part of the joy in writing this book is saying to people that just because one has modelled doesn't mean one doesn't eat."

Yeah, models not just eat - they cook too. And the first supermodel to prove that is not a skinny, waif-like glamorous icon but a voluptuous model with "enormous tits, an even bigger arse and a perfectly round face with plump, smiling cheeks."

Why Sophie Dahl calls her recipes "voluptuous" is considered out of question. The supermodel has long established a name of her own in the media and fashion industry with her voluptuous body that stood apart from the prevailing trend for unhealthily thin models.

But if Sophie Dahl calls her book "Voluptuous Delights," how should skinny Kate Moss calls her own cookery book? We're anticipating...

Supermodel, Superwriter Kate Moss?

After Kate Moss' plan to release a cookbook, the supermodel is now planning to write a novel? Whoa!

Reports had it that Kate Moss is teaming with singer-turned-novelist Louise Wener to write her debut novel - a fiction about a young model's rise to fame.

As revealed on a British newspaper, "Kate has been considering how she will occupy her time when the modelling work dries up.

"Writing a novel is something she has considered before. With the help of a ghost writer like Louise, she is convinced she could come up with a commercially successful product that could be a great money-spinner.

"She knows the modelling world inside out and all the scandal behind the scenes."

Aside from a cookbook and a novel, the supermodel is also set to release her autobiography through Virgin Books - perhaps detailing her troubles with drugs and romance and her dramatic rise to modeling stardom. "It's going to make an exciting read," anticipates billionaire Richard Branson, who owns a 10 per cent stake in the company.

With a lot of future writings to make, Kate Moss will surely be a busy writer when her catwalk career is up. But with people like Davinia Taylor to help her with the cookbook and Louise Wener to help her with the novel, it's not gonna be that hard. She would still have plenty of time to do acting projects (as also planned) and become Kate Moss, the Hollywood star.

Heidi Klum's Maternity Style

How to look stylish despite the baby bump? Learn some fashionable maternity style from Supermodel Heidi Klum who's now five months pregnant with her fourth child but reveals she doesn't go into maternity stores to buy clothes "appropriate" for pregos. Her secret: finding good shapes and cool tops.

"I love to be creative and find cute things in between," the supermodel shares in her recent magazine interview. “It’s about finding good shapes. Cool tops. Right now for example, I love the skinny pants and blousier tops, and then when I get bigger, I like to bring the form back to the body. Then I like to show it off.”

Heidi also tells that her favorite clothing item when she's pregnant is a black Balenciaga jeans: “They are super stretchy, and they are not very high, so you can kind of fit them under the belly. The bump on top can still grow.”

For everyday look, Heidi goes for lumberjacks and ripped jeans: "They are comfortable. I love over-sized t-shirts and jeans.”

Thanks Heidi! Preggy supermodel Gisele Bundchen might take some of your maternity style in the coming days.

From Katherine Dalton To Adrian: A Lesbian Model's Transformation

Fashion model Katherine Dalton speaks about her/his transformation from being a lipstick lesbian to a gay man.

Perfect size 10 figure with gorgeous curves, pouted lips, long and blonde hair - a petite model for her/his 5'5" height, Katherine Dalton nevertheless had what it takes to command big projects as a fashion model. Or so it seemed.

The model felt uncomfortable as a woman, feeling like a man trapped in a woman's body. S/he even despised the seemingly greatest asset that a woman could have - boobs. Later, a gender expert confirmed that the troubled model was transexual.

Katherine Dalton admitted that s/he took up modeling to help her/his low self-esteem. S/he tried to emulate the looks of Pamela Anderson, Kate Moss, and Marilyn Monroe as her/his model figure. Nonetheless, her/his admiration for women wasn't much greater as her/his jealousy of men. S/he wanted to be a man and started hating her/his body.

S/he underwent therapy and by the end of it, began using the name Adrian. Afterwards, s/he underwent an operation to remove her/his 32C breast, started injecting testosterone, did hysterectomy and later, phalloplasty. S/he would undergo an erectile implant next year to complete her/his transformation.

Some of us could never understand this person who refused to live by what life had given to her/him but for Katherine Dalton, altering her/his body would mean altering her/his life into something s/he would like to live.

“For years I was a man trapped in a woman’s body. And although I was a beautiful woman I felt ugly because I was not who I wanted to be. Now I feel complete and it is fantastic. Going through the op to be a man was scary but it's the most fulfilling thing I've done and I feel right for the first time in my life."

Katherine Dalton, now Adrian, is a 31-year bachelor and hopes to pursue relationships. “I don’t know what the future holds. I’d like to travel and live in Australia but for now I’m just happy being me.”

Still her/his choices also has some drawbacks. For one Katherine Dalton/Adrian has to sacrifice her/his modeling profession to pursue happiness - “Obviously I don’t get doors held open for me any more - but I can live with that.”

Kris Allen Wins American Idol

Arkansas devout Christian and college student Kris Allen, 23, was named as the new "American Idol" in the Wednesday finale of the most popular U.S. television show.

Dubbed as the "Dark Horse," Kris Allen won the reality-singing competition with his acoustic music and all-American good looks over the falsetto singing style and daring wardrobe of 27-year old musical theatre actor Adam Lambert.

"It feels good, but Adam deserves this. I don't even know what to feel right now, this is crazy... I felt shocked almost every week that I made it. To be the American Idol, I'm completely shocked," said the uhmmm, shocked Kris Allen.

Famous for his off-the-charts vocal range, dazzling contestant Adam Lambert (whom the judges called Glambert) just shrugged his shoulder in defeat and said, "For me it's not really about what happened tonight, it's about tomorrow."

Aside from the excitement between Kris Allen and Adam Lambert's performances, another highlight of the star-studded American Idol finale was the singing duel between Kara DioGuardi and former Idol hopeful Katrina Darrell aka Bikini Girl. In the last part of their face-off, the new American Idol judge ripped off her dress to reveal a bikini!

The American Idol finale was, after all, the moment of truth not only for Kris Allen and Adam Lambert but for everyone who wants the world to know that they can sing... and they have "something" to show.

Miley Cyrus Fights "Fat" Attacks

Teen idol Miley Cyrus got a blast for cyber-bullies who call her fat:

"Talk all you want. I have my flaws. I'm a normal girl there's things about my body I would change, but stop calling me f*t in post. I don't even like the word. Those remarks that you hateful people use are fighting words, the ones that scar people and cause them to do damage to themselves or others."

Following the 16-year old's joke about how her thighs jiggle, Internet critics were quick to attack her figure. But instead of getting depressed like most teenagers do, tough Miley uses her social networking account to send a message against the attackers she call "cyber-bullies."

Miley Cyrus' popularity started when she landed a lead role in Disney Channel's Hanna Montana in 2006. Since then, she become the world's famous teenager, especially inspiring teens who are also the ones most vulnerable and emotionally-affected by cyber-bullying.

Instead of spending too much time on gossip websites, Miley Cyrus says people should read their Bible as well as stories about the consequences of cyber-abuse and name calling.

"Kids hurt themselves. This is not something to be taken lightly," adds the most influential teen in the world.

Lily Allen: "Modeling Is Intimidating But Fun"

For a petite woman like Lily Allen who only stands 5'2" tall, an offer to do modeling job for no less than Karl Lagerfeld is undeniably intimidating:

"I am quite unnatural in front of the camera, especially when you are working with fashion photographers just because the nature of the people they are used to working with is very different from me. So I always feel a little self conscious, because I am 5ft 2 and size 12. It can be a little bit intimidating, but fun on some levels."

Despite a height that is considered too short in modeling, Lily Allen is a fashion-favorite. Not to mention her "special relationship" with Chanel (including borrowing clothes and jewelery and being invited to sit in the front row of Chanel shows), the British singer-songwriter has also won various fashion awards including the 2008 Glamour Woman of the Year. She was also named as the ninth best style role model in a readers poll for a British style magazine.

Lily Allen is recently named as the new face of Chanel accessories. She will star in ad campaign photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself.

Way to go, shorty!

Katie Perry, Pamela Anderson, and Eva Longoria were among the high-profiled celebrities who joined the annual Life Ball charity event in Vienna to support the worldwide fight against HIV and AIDS.

The glamorous Life Ball celebrated the beauty of life and diversity of world cultures in a night of outlandish performances and inspirational speeches.

Campaign-Against-AIDS supporter Katie Perry stole the limelight when she made her entrance in a giant shell. Her wonderful marine costume included shell bustier, a skirt, and a hotpantsuit studded with diamond and ornamental starfish.

Ex-Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson, on the other hand, entertained the audience in gold bikini, high heels, massive 80s hairdo, and a specially-customized ghetto blaster.

Meanwhile, Eva Longoria was quoted as saying, "There's a terrible shortage of doctors and other healthcare workers who are trained to provide the proper treatment and care for those children (with HIV)."

The marine-themed 2009 Life Ball was held in the town hall of Austria's capital city on May 16. Other guests included former U.S. President Bill Clinton, model Amber Valletta, and actress Fran Drescher.

Child Actor Of "Slumdog Millionaire" Is Homeless

"Slumdog Millionaire" won eight Oscar awards but the child actor who helped the film depict the real life of India's shantytown still lived in the slums of Mumbai.

Azharuddin Ismail is the 11-year old child actor who played the young Salim, elder brother of the film's central character Jamal. His 9-year old younger sister, Rubina Ali, played the young Latika who's Jamal's love interest in the award-winning movie.

After the success of Slumdog Millionaire, the family of the Indian child talent has been promised to be rehoused. This, however, did not come to realization - until their shanty was torn down by Mumbai authorities on Thursday to prepare for the coming monsoon rains.

Azharuddin's mother, Shamim Ismail, mournfully recalled, "They came and destroyed the house when my son was sleeping. Now we don't have any place to go so we're sitting here right now with our belongings. I hope someone from the government will help us." She added, "We were promised that we will get a government flat but we have still not got anything yet."

Meanwhile the child actor Azharuddin, who's known to his neighborhood as Azhar, seemed to cling on to his innocence and doesn't care much about his being homeless despite international stardom - he was playing with chickens as television news crews and photographers watched.

"America's Next Top Model" Fires Paulina Porizkova

Judge Paulina Porizkova was fired from "America's Next Top Model" on her 44th bithday.

The model-actress revealed the news to host Craig Ferguson on the CBS' "The Late Show" last Tuesday saying, "Listen, do you know why I am in Los Angeles …because I am looking for a job because I was fired by America’s Next Top Model on my birthday." Paulina Porizkova added that the untimely elimination happened over the phone.

The ANTM judge couldn't find any reason behind her firing, except her "huge gigantic ego."

"Just to be fair here, the reason I was told I was fired was because ...it seemed that 'America's Next Top Model' had gotten too fat and they needed to cut some fat - and the fat was me," she explained.

"I really believe that they just felt like they didn't need me, which, of course, they don't," the model added.

Paulina Porizkova served as judge on the reality show, alongside fashion insider J. Alexander, high-fashion photographer Nigel Barker, and supermodel Tyra Banks. She joined the panel of judges last year and marked her final appearance on the 12th season finale of the reality modeling competition last Wednesday night, one night after she revealed being axed from the show.

Paulina Porizkova's firing from "America's Next Top Model" left everyone to wonder if there was rivalry between her and Tyra Banks, the show's creator and host.

Elle MacPherson's Slimming Secret: Fish Oil!

Elle MacPherson's secret to staying slim and looking 20-something at 45 is revealed by her personal trainer James Duigan. The trainer says that "The Body" is actually a fan of fish oil.

Aside from fish oil, the supermodel does a lot of exercises and outdoor activities. “She makes exercise a part of her day. When she was in Sydney recently, she was cycling and surfing all the time. It’s important to stay active at weekends and holidays but, like Elle, you can make it fun,” says Duigan.

But while Elle MacPherson's lifestyle is always on the go, she sees to it that she has time for meditation.

“Keeping stress at bay is one of the best things you can do for your body and waistline, ” Duigan adds.

FYI: Stress is closely linked with stomach fat - studies show that when the body is stressed, it releases a hormone responsible for storing fat around the waist and tummies.

Kate Moss Is Freaky On Magazine Cover?

Beauty is skin deep. Peel through the skin of supermodel Kate Moss and all you see is a freaky flesh that's just the same with everyone of us.

Kate Moss' unusual image is for the cover of the spring/summer issue of TAR magazine. Designed by artist Damien Hirst, the New York art magazine shows the muscles in one half of the supermodel's face.

Did Kate Moss really reveal the slightly gory side of her?

Actually, the supermodel's image was taken from W Magazine cover photographed by Mert and Marcus in March 2005. And Damien Hirst just used (brilliantly, at that) the famous fashion model's face to create his entry for the transparency-themed issue of the indie arts biannual magazine.

So what do you think of Kate Moss' look, freaky or artsy?

Heidi Klum & Seal Renews Vows

Nothing can stop Supermodel Heidi Klum from renewing marriage vows with British singer Seal, not even swine flu.

Heidi and Seal were supposedly to hold their annual wedding anniversary in their beach house in Mexico but decided to stay in California because of the epidemic scare. It was a funky bash nonetheless as the celebrity couple renewed their vows in a white trash themed-wedding in Malibu.

Presided by an Elvis impersonator, the wacky wedding showed Heidi Klum in a lace and sequined top and cornrows, while Seal was dressed in a mullet-style wig and an American Flag jacket.

"After the ceremony, and as the sun set, Seal took care of Heidi and helped her put on black leather jacket so she would stay warm. Even with cornrows, Heidi looked stunning. Everyone was laughing and having good time," says a source.

Natalia Vodianova's Modeling Success After Giving Birth

For most models, giving birth could mean a forthcoming lame career in modeling. This, however, is not true for the Russian supermodel Natalia Vodianova whose success as a model soared high after giving birth to her first son.

Two months after giving birth to her first son Lucas, Natalia Vodianova was back on the runway, becoming one of the most sought-after model:

"My agency thought that I might never do shows, because I was a bit shorter and not skinny enough. But what happened was, when I gave birth to my first son I was 19, so I lost a lot of weight. I guess the stress on the body was extreme and I suddenly just turned into this stick - just the way designers love models - and after Lucas was born that's when my career took off. I opened a lot of shows on the runway and that's where stars are made in my industry."

The gorgeous supermodel shares more of this body hang-ups on the June issue of Vogue UK. Ironically for Natalia Vodianova's "perfect" body, the magazine's special body issues usually feature non-model figures like curvy Beyoncé. The message is that all women, and not just models, are lovely and worth celebrating.

The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion

Today is the beginning of the special exhibitions organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art which runs from May 6 to August 9, 2009 at 2nd floor of The Tisch Galleries.

"The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," explores the relationship of fashion and the evolving ideals of beauty and "focuses on iconic models of the twentieth century and their roles in projecting, and sometimes inspiring, the fashion of their respective eras."

The exhibit traces 50 years of the women who defined their generations, from 1947 to 1997. It features haute couture and ready-to-wear masterworks accompanied by fashion photography and video footage of models who epitomized their epochs.

Click the image below to take a glimpse!

Lovely, weren't they? It's amazing how iconic models not only embodied the spirit of specific season in fashion but have also shaped and influenced those fashion.

Harold Koda, curator in charge of the Costume Institute who co-curated the exhibit with Kohle Yohannan, observes that "the iconic models were actually the ones who didn't necessarily have the most perfect faces. Rather, it's the ones who had the most individualized look."

Why Naomi Campbell Didn't Attend The Met Costume Institute Gala

Honoring the role of supermodels as fashion muses, the opening of the 2009 Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala last Monday was the night of supermodels so to speak.

But amid the sea of beautiful faces, where was the famous supermodel Naomi Campbell?

The British muse was a no-show at the gala. Was it because Tyra Banks also attended the event?

Not quiet - Azzedine Alaïa was supposedly the reason.

According to reports, the designer was displeased that Anna Wintour only allowed one photograph of his work to be displayed at the exhibition so he asked the supermodels Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Stephanie Seymour (who were supposed to wear his designs to the gala) not to attend the event.

Alaïa was quoted as saying, "(Anna Wintour) has too much power over this museum." This was denied by the exhibit curator, Harold Koda, who said that Anna Wintour was not involved in curating the shows - the decision to exclude Alaïa was actually because the designer wanted to have a single designer exhibit, something that was discordant with the Met policy.

A lame excuse or not, Azzedine Alaïa's influence over his muses was great. A spokesperson for Naomi Campbell told the press, "As Naomi has been the muse of Azzedine Alaïa for 23 years, she feels she doesn't want to attend unless she can represent his work."
