Yes, brothers and sisters. Nuns inspire the latest trend in fashion these days – appearing on magazine covers in their supermodel lure or dressing up to the latest creations of Dior, Calvin Klein, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
After the revolutionary success of the black issue of Vogue Italia, six supermodels were featured on the fall 2008 issue of POP magazine as “Hot Nuns.” Agyness Deyn, Jourdan Dunn, Naomi Campbell, Natalia Vodianova, Amber Valletta, and Oluchi Onweagba were styled in Prada’s sexy see-through lace as photographed by Sebastian Faena.
Meanwhile, Megan Fox also dressed up as Mother Theresa to grace the “immensely popular” style in the underground fetish community today. Her image was just one of the many subversion of the supposedly virtuous nun, who is also now clothed in latex or leather nun uniforms and frequently wears a gas mask.
Good heavens! We wonder how the religious community reacts to this trend, but nuns are really experiencing a HOT makeover in pop culture these days and we’ll say amen to that.
