Casting Director is looking for AEA Actors for the play "Bus Stop". Directed by David Schweizer. $765/week minimum
First Rehearsal: 10/25/12. Runs: 11/21-12/23
In this 1955 romantic classic by William Inge (Picnic), a busload of strangers, down on their luck in love and bound for other places, wait out a snowstorm in Grace’s Kansas diner. From rodeo champ Bo and Cherie the chanteuse to forlorn Dr. Lyman and starry-eyed Elma, everyone’s chasing their slice of the American Dream, and someone to share it with. And yes, that was Marilyn Monroe in the movie.
1.) FEMALE (early 20's; any ethnicity) - CHERIE. A chanteuse/hillbilly girl;
2.) MALE (early 20's; any ethnicity) - BO DECKER. Young rancher and cowboy;
3.) FEMALE (40's; any ethnicity) - GRACE HYLAND. Diner owner/seasoned wise-cracker;
4.) FEMALE (18+; any ethnicity) - ELMA. High school girl;
5.) MALE (late 30's-50's; any ethnicity) - WILL MASTER. The Sheriff;
6.) MALE (50's; any ethnicity) - DR. GERALD LYMAN. “Former” college professor;
7.) MALE (30's-50's; any ethnicity) - CARL. The bus driver;
8.) MALE (40's; any ethnicity) - VIRGIL BLESSING. Bo's “guardian” and care-taker
NYC appointment auditions will be held the week of August 6, 2012. Please submit only if you are “right” for one or more roles, and only if you are free to work during the contract dates.
