"Rope" Equity Principal Auditions

Theatre company is holding EPA for the play "Rope", written by Patrick Hamilton and to be directed by Elmore James.

The play will run on run on September 28 to October 14, 2012.

Contract SPT Approval/salary level pending. 2012-13 weekly minimum: $302

SEEKING:

1.) MALE (late 20's; any ethnicity) - BRANDON. Tall, good-looking, finely built and blond, with an upper-class, superior air about him, NOT sympathetic;

2.) MALE (mid 20's; any ethnicity) - GRANILLO. Not as tall or necessarily as athletic as Brandon, but also good-looking and well-groomed, sympathetic, but lacking in resolve;

3.) MALE (mid 30's; any ethnicity) - SABOT. Alert, blue-collar-ish, immigrant with sex appeal. Not quite used to the American way, but reliable, efficient and hard-working;

4.) MALE (20's; any ethnicity) - RAGLAN. Young, unsuspecting, simple in nature, good-looking yet a bit unsure and tentative. 20, or thereabouts;

5.) FEMALE (20's; any ethnicity) - LEILA. Young, a bit superficial, non-intellectual, good-looking, well-groomed, and like Raglan, unsuspecting, but a bit more confident. 20, or thereabouts;

6.) MALE (late 20's; any ethnicity) - RUPERT. Slight, a bit arch in humor, effeminate and affected, yet sympathetic and highly intelligent, with a sense of humor that does not suffer fools gladly;

7.) MALE (late 50's; any ethnicity) - PROFESSOR JONATHAN KENTLEY. Tall, thin, intellectual, a bit vulnerable and sympathetic, kind, gentlemanly, older than his years;

8.) FEMALE (50's; any ethnicity) - MRS. DEBEN. A bit lost in her thoughts as if internally traumatized, far away, plain. 50-ish. Actors auditioning for this role should prepare a monologue, classical or modern, in the vein of Blanch DuBois or Mary Tyrone.
