The search for young Actress to play Dorothy in CBC-TV's "Over the Rainbow" is underway!
Ten girls will spend an eight jam-packed, toe-tapping, music-filled weeks of competition on CBC TV. Each week, Canada will weigh in via online vote, until one Dorothy is left standing.
One lucky girl will take on the lead role in The Wizard of Oz, starting December 2012.
SEEKING:
FEMALES (16+; any ethnicity) - SINGER-ACTORS. Dorothy is a teenager who wants to break free from her life and see the world. She needs to be feisty, spirited and funny. Our Dorothy must have a spectacular voice. She needs to master the song 'Over the Rainbow' - which is no easy task. This famous song is the ultimate test of a performer's vocal abilities. It's often used in auditions to separate the good from the great. And of course there's the dancing and acting bit too!
