Debe Waisman Casting is casting background for The Runaways, starring Kristin Stewart and Dakota Fanning about Joan Jett’s first girl band. Shoot starts June 21.

Casting states: “This is not Austin Powers, over-the-top 1970s, this is the real, authentic rock ‘n’ roll scene in the 1970s.”

SEEKING:

1.) MALES & FEMALES (22-35; any ethnicity) - 1970’s HOLLYWOOD PARTY. Good-looking, think “glamorous coke-fueled pool party”;

2.) MALES & FEMALES (18-26; any ethnicity) - ROLLERSKATERS. No inline skates/rollerblades;

3.) MALES & FEMALES (18-early 20s; any ethnicity) - HIGH SCHOOL TYPES. 18 to look younger, preppy, normal-looking kids, think The Partridge Family or The Brady Bunch;

4.) MALES & FEMALES (18-26; any ethnicity) - CLUB-GOERS. Glam rock, disco, glitter;

5.) MALES & FEMALES (18+; any ethnicity) - STREET PUNK FRIENDS. 1970’s style, think Sex Pistols, pre-Devo, tattoos okay;

Everyone, at all times, must have the right hair. Girls’ hair should be long, straight, or wavy — no modern cuts or colors—only natural colors. Hair can be tomboyish and shorter, but not super short. Hair was not stick-straight; no appliances to straighten the hair were used. Guys’ hair should be shaggy, longish, or completely long, no crew cuts. Hair for both sexes was generally parted in the middle and worn long or waved back, think Farrah Fawcett feathered style.

18-to-look-younger guys should have no facial hair. No visible tattoos except for Joan’s Street Punk Friends. No tattoos on either gender. Everyone should be on the thin/skinny side.

Clothes are provided for the most part, but any clothing you can provide is welcome.
