Classical Theatre of Harlem is casting Three Sisters.
SEEKING:
FEMALE (30s; African-American) - OLGA. Woman, eldest of the three sisters, attractive, matriarchal figure (not necessarily in appearance but in attitude) of the Prozorov family;
FEMALE (30s; African-American) - MASHA. Middle sister, pretty in an unassuming, natural way, unhappily married since age 18, falls in love with Vershinin, and they begin an affair;
FEMALE (20s; African-American) - IRINA. Youngest sister, attractive, youthful beauty and energy, her only desire is to go back to Moscow, where she believes she will find her true love;
MALE (30s; African-American) - ANDREI. Brother of the three sisters, unassertive, not in the best physical shape, starts as a young man on the fast track and ends as a pathetic shell of his former self, a failure;
FEMALE (30s) - NATASHA. Andrei’s wife, insecure, awkward at first, and ends the play having inherited control of the house from her weak, vacillating husband (Andrei), leaving the sisters dependent on her, achieves everything she wants;
MALE (40s to 50s) - KULYGIN. Masha’s older husband, teacher at the high school, jovial, kindly man who truly loves his wife, although he is aware of her infidelity;
MALE (late 20s to early 30s) - TUZENBACH. Not particularly attractive, smart, perhaps too much for his own good, lieutenant in the army, has loved Irina for five years and quits the army to go to work in an attempt to impress her;
MALE (30s to 40s) - SOLYONY. Captain in the army, physically fit, yet a social mishap, in love with Irina, tries to puts down others to make himself look better;
MALE (40s; African-American) - VERSHININ. Lieutenant Colonel in charge of the battery, a true philosopher;
MALE (60s; African-American) - CHEBUTYKIN. Doctor in the army;
MALE (50s to 60s; African-American) - FERAPONT. Old, comedic role, door-keeper at local council offices;
FEMALE (70s; African-American) - ANFISA. Old nurse;
MALE (20s) - FEDOTIK. Sub-lieutenant, hangs around the house and tries to express his love to Irina by buying her many gifts;
MALE (20s) - RODE. Sub-lieutenant, a coach at the high school.
