SYNOPSIS: Lawrence is a middle-aged married man who returns from a business trip to discover he’s about to become a middle-aged single man. Janice is a young woman, in an attempt to fulfill her father’s dying wish, keeps up the pretense of being pregnant, finally stealing a baby, but finds herself rescued in more ways than one by Lawrence, despite being a world apart and twice her age she feels an immediate connection and so the story begins….
DIRECTOR: Gregg Masuak. HIBERNATION is a quirky comedy that shows us that when it seems your whole world is falling apart, just one haphazard meeting can change your whole life forever. It’s a refreshing comedy about love and life that manages to escape cliché and run miles from the obvious.

MALE (40s to 50s; any ethnicity) - DAVID. David is in his 40’s, his marriage fell apart and used Helen as a shoulder to cry on, he felt alone and Helen was there to comfort him. David was missing guidance in his life when his wife left which Helen was able to give him. David is a youthful looking guy, shy and reserved. He is ashamed of what he did to Lawrence but still continues his relationship.
FEMALE (410s to 50s; any ethnicity) - HELEN . Helen is in her 40’s, and is married to Lawrence, she ultimately betrays him by having a 9month relationship with the neighbor, she has no shame or remorse for what she has done, her love had drifted from Lawrence, and wants a family with her lover, David. Helen grew close to David when he needed support when his marriage ending 9 months earlier. She is manipulative, and uses Lawrence's feelings against him.
MALE (40s to 50s; any ethnicity) - LAWRENCE. Lawrence is in his 40’s, learning to cope with the loss of a baby and his wife’s heartache only made then grow apart and her into the arms of their neighbour. Lawrence has had his heart beaten to a pulp, he cannot comprehend his wife’s action. Lawrence is a hard working husband, he always wants to care for his family, but maybe this was what did it, he buried himself in his work and lost communication with his wife, he uses avoidance as a way of dealing with his problems. Lawrence doesn’t judge Janice, he has a good sense of humour and takes all the events in his stride
FEMALE (20 to 30; any ethnicity) - JANICE. Janice is in her 20’s, she knows she can’t keep up the pretense any longer but she is driven by desperation to make her dying father proud, giving him a grandson. Once married to Martin, she is an idealist of the life she had, could have but won’t have anymore. Her world fell apart when Martin left her, she accepted the cheating but him falling in love she couldn’t. Emotional damaged by this, she feels alone in a crazy world of lies
