From Maxim to GQ, Sports Illustrated and ELLE, Antoine Verglas has made a name for himself shooting the world's top celebrities and supermodels with an intimate style and attention to the woman behind the lens. New Faces recently sat down with the renowned photographer to learn from his expereinces for models and photographers alike.

New Faces: Where did you get started in your career and did you always want to be a fashion photographer?

Antoine Verglas: I started in Paris, France, a bit by accident, with a model girlfriend and some friend photographers. [I gained a] taste and passion for it. I moved to New York quickly after starting in Paris with the idea to shoot top models in their intimacy and interviews, candidly. It was then published in French ELLE and all the international editions.

New Faces: Of all the magazine covers you have shot, which was the most challenging and which the most rewarding, where things turned out just the way you had intended?

Antoine Verglas: The first one would have to be French ELLE then Sports Illustrated and American Photo. These are the covers which are great souvenirs for me. You never know if you will get the cover and that is what is exciting and rewarding when you get them.

New Faces: Do you always have a scene and shot set up in your mind before getting started with a model or do you improvise as you go along?

Antoine Verglas: Not always, it depends on the assignment. I like sometimes to improvise; when you try to set up too much it does not always work. You have to adjust to the personality of the subject.

New Faces: Do you have any advice for models during a shoot and how they can get your attention at a casting?

Antoine Verglas: Be professional, develop your own 'look', work hard, study magazines, and be aware of the business.

New Faces: What advice do you have for photographers that are just starting out?

Antoine Verglas: Do not be impatient. Stay humble, work hard, try to be different, test lightings and equipment, stay true to your vision, and of course work on your own style.

New Faces: Which well-known models have you worked with and how does their experience aid you in getting the shots you want?

Antoine Verglas: I worked with basically everyone [Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton, Beyonce, Cameron Diaz, Denise Richards, Elizabeth Hurley, Mariah Carey, Heidi Klum, Molly Sims, and Halle Berry to name a few] and feel lucky for it. A great model is always so helpful, as you get the shot you want so much quicker.

Antoine Verglas: I'm currently working on an exhibit in Paris for some more artistic pictures celebrating the woman's body.
